Hydromec Inc., a growing company, is looking for a Workshop Mechanic to join its passionate and committed team at the Dolbeau-Mistassini branch. Our team is dedicated to creating an inclusive, safe, and employee-focused work environment.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the Workshop Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of mechanical equipment and components. The mechanic ensures operational efficiency and equipment durability by performing precise work in accordance with Hydromec’s standards. This role requires strong knowledge of mechanical systems, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnostics and Repairs: Diagnose and identify faults and failures in equipment.

  • Preventive and Corrective Maintenance: Perform regular and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.

  • Mechanical and Hydraulic Systems Work: Inspect, verify, adjust, and repair various components and systems of heavy machinery, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic circuits, and electrical systems.

  • Blueprint Reading and Interpretation: Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic plans to perform necessary repairs and adjustments.

  • Safety Compliance: Work according to occupational health and safety procedures and regulations.

  • Collaboration and Optimization: Coordinate with the team to improve the efficiency of repairs and equipment maintenance.

  • Quality Control: Ensure the quality of completed work and verify equipment operation after interventions.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and electrical proportional controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Strong teamwork skills.

Requirements:

  • Education: Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Heavy Equipment Mechanics, Mobile Equipment Mechanics, or equivalent.

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years.

  • Languages:

    • Spoken French: Advanced
    • Written French: Intermediate
    • English: Beginner (an asset)
