Hydromec Inc., a growing company, is looking for a Hydraulic Technician to join its passionate and committed team at the Dolbeau-Mistassini branch. Our team is dedicated to creating an inclusive, safe, and employee-focused work environment.

Reporting to the Mechanical Workshop Manager, the Hydraulic Technician specializes in the repair of hydraulic components, including the assembly and disassembly of parts for repair and adjustment. The technician must be able to identify problems, make accurate diagnoses, and assess repair costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose, disassemble, repair, and assemble hydraulic components such as pumps, valves, and motors according to Hydromec’s established standards.

  • Inspection and Diagnosis: Identify mechanical and hydraulic issues, perform necessary adjustments, and propose appropriate solutions.

  • Cost Evaluation: Analyze the condition of components and estimate repair costs based on standards and customer requests.

  • Quality Control: Verify the compliance of repairs and adjustments using precise measuring instruments.

  • Blueprint Reading and Interpretation: Work from technical drawings to ensure repair compliance.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance on workshop tools and equipment and report any anomalies.

  • Safety Compliance: Work in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations, using appropriate protective equipment.

  • Collaboration: Coordinate with colleagues and the workshop manager to optimize operations and quickly resolve technical issues.

  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in optimizing work methods and propose solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.

Requirements:

  • Education: Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Industrial Mechanics or equivalent (an ASP in Hydraulics is an asset).

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in industrial or hydraulic mechanics.

  • Languages:

    • Spoken French: Advanced
    • Written French: Intermediate
    • English: Beginner (an asset)
