With its load-carrying capacity of 13 tons, PONSSE Elk is a powerful tool, which feels smaller thanks to its agility. Its economical engine and large fuel tank increase the refuelling interval. It is safe to say that the Elk is an excellent machine for thinning sites where the machine needs to cover long distances. Special features
PONSSE Active Crane offers a new way of controlling the loader and boosting efficiency. It is a system which the operator uses to control the grapple or harvester head movement instead of individual functions, allowing the operator to concentrate efficiently on loader work.
The most spacious and comfortable cabin and the most ergonomic controls in the market guarantee the best working comfort.
The cabin can be equipped with PONSSE Seat. It is the first seat designed specifically for forest machines. This is why the special needs of forest machine operators have been addressed in its design. The seat and, in particular, its base are solid, the seat has diverse suspension adjustments and the whole package withstands heavy-duty operations for years without any impact.
The well-behaving power of the Mercedes-Benz / MTU engine is available over a broad rpm range. Its fast response to the throttle, steady torque and strong hydraulics make the machine humble and easy to use. The strong hydraulics and precise feel make loading easy and reliable. The loaders have a maximum reach up to 10 metres.
The design of the frame focuses particularly on durability and ease of maintenance. In addition to reliability, the functional positioning and serviceability of components are typical characteristics of the structure.
PONSSE K70+ or K90+ are available as options. The long reach and accurate loader control add power and accuracy to loading and unloading. Hoses are protected inside booms in both options. They can also be equipped with a tilting loader base.
A long bogie, a new bogie option designed for harvesting in soft conditions, is available for 8-wheeled models of PONSSE Wisent, Elk and Buffalo. The long bogie reduces the ground pressure of a track-based machine significantly compared to a standard bogie.
