Ponsse launches OptiFellingAssist, an intelligent solution to optimize the precision, safety and productivity of forestry operations.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Ponsse presents the world’s first felling assistant developed by a forestry machinery manufacturer. OptiFellingAssist improves harvest quality and supports operators with intelligent features that optimize productivity. This new solution enables precise and productive felling cuts, reduces equipment wear, and enhances safety.<\/p>\n

“OptiFellingAssist simplifies and optimizes the operator’s work while improving the quality of the work. It ensures successful felling in all circumstances. This results in increased safety, reduced bar and chain wear, a more durable boom, and increased productivity, all with less stress. OptiFellingAssist helps the operator pre-tension the bar before cutting, preventing pinching and enabling safer felling,” explains Timo Koskiahde, Product Manager, Information Systems, Ponsse Plc. \u201cIt\u2019s also important to note that the OptiFellingAssist solution improves workplace safety and optimizes working time. Assisted Forward Tracking<\/strong>
OptiFellingAssist assists the vertical movement of the harvester\u2019s crane based on the forward speed. This is particularly useful in deep snow conditions, when the harvester head needs to be brought to the felling height through the snowpack.<\/p>\n

Assisted Pretensioning<\/strong>
The system performs pretensioning after the tree to be felled is picked up, allowing the operator to proceed directly to the sawing phase. Combined with lifting during the felling cut, this ensures a clean cut and a high-quality result.<\/p>\n

Technical Requirements and Availability<\/strong>
OptiFellingAssist works with PONSSE Active Crane and PONSSE Opti 5G software version 3.3 or later. This feature is available as an option for new PONSSE machines.<\/p>\n
